I've had the luxury of following my passions throughout my life.  I decided when I was 12 that I wanted to be a marine biologist.  I achieved my goal, but the career and the dream of marine biology was a stark contrast that I wasn't prepared for.  Following a short career in the environmental field, I pursued another lifelong passion, photography.  After almost 20 years as a commercial product photographer, I made the decision to go back to school to get an Associates in Marketing.
My career path has not been a straight line but has unknowingly been bringing me to where I am now.   In my previous career as a commercial product photographer, I have gained many transferrable skills.  I am eager to leverage these skills as a marketing professional.
One of the greatest compliments I received from a previous manager, was that I had the unique ability to manage and be creative at the same time.  I feel that that exemplifies marketing; the unique combination of my analytical (science) side with my creative abilities (photography).
In my role as a supervisor at Planet Inc, I managed a staff of seven team members.  This role allowed me to grow my skills in project management, with the successful management of complicated daily shoots while continually adapting to the ebb and flow of seasonal variances. This experience also demonstrated how I expertly communicated with both vendors outside the company, and buyers in house equally.
I feel strongly that my previous experiences have prepared me to be well-suited for your role!
